Marketing instruments

Producers know how to manage production risk. Unfortunately, as far as price risk is concerned, the necessary protection is not always available. Bester offers a wide range of marketing instruments to ensure sufficient price risk management. Clients can select their own combination of our marketing instruments. Each of these instruments has its own risk profile regarding price and delivery.

Some of the instruments used include:

  • Bester Grain Marketing plan (BGM-plan)
  • Personal mandate level pricing
  • Advanced pricing
  • Basis contract
  • Delayed pricing contract
  • Minimum price contract
  • Spot market contract
  • On-farm loading

Every client’s situation is unique, therefore, Bester advises everybody according to their own needs. We can help you find the best combinations of marketing instruments that will suit your needs and will thus increase your profitability in the long term.

Animal Feeds Ingredients

Africa

Bester Zambia

Bester Feed & Grain Zambia (Bester Zambia) opened its doors in October 2015 in Lusaka after Bester’s active trading involvement in Southern Africa over the past 8 years. Procurement of animal feed raw material has been sourced from Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi, and Tanzania. By using this network, it was a natural transition to extend our footprint into Africa by registering the business in Zambia.

Bester Zambia specialises in the procurement and trading of animal feed raw materials such as:

  • Soya Oil Cake
  • Sunflower Oil Cake
  • Cotton Oil Cake
  • Maize Bran
  • Wheat Bran
  • Cotton Hulls
  • Cottonseed
  • Molasses
  • Grains such as soya beans, wheat, and maize

All raw materials and grain are sourced directly from approved farmers, oilseed crushers, and millers. We offer a full logistical service that includes road transport, clearing, warehousing, and delivery directly from the source to the client’s premises.

Bester Namibia

Bester Feed & Grain Namibia (Bester Namibia) operates in conjunction with Bester Feed & Grain and Bester Zambia in trading with grains and feed commodities in the Southern African region. In addition to rendering services to the Namibian consumers and suppliers of grains and feedstuffs, Bester Namibia is also involved in exports from Namibia, in line with the tax, commercial, and currency requirements of the Namibian Government. Typical export products include fish meal and meat and bone meal.
